What Happens When You Request Deletion
- Account Deactivated — Your account is immediately deactivated upon receiving your request.
- Data Reviewed — Our team reviews your request and identifies all personal data associated with your account.
- Data Deleted — Personal data is permanently deleted, subject to legal retention periods (see below).
- Confirmation — You'll receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.
Data Retention (POPIA & HPCSA)
We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) guidelines. Certain data may be retained for legal and regulatory purposes:
- Medical Records: Retained for a minimum of 6 years from the last consultation date, as required by HPCSA.
- Financial Records: Retained for 5 years as required by South African tax law.
- Communication Logs: Anonymised usage logs may be retained for platform security and analytics.
After the applicable retention period, all remaining data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
